Anyone that's done Tour of the Litchfield Hills, or ridden in that area for some other reason, knows the riding is both challenging (hills) and incredibly scenic. Lots of farms, multiple lakes, state parks, and roads that are generally less busy with decent shoulders that make for some great riding.
Four our first official NHBC ride of the fall, we're planning to ride those beautiful rides on Sat., September 24th. Given the distance, we would not start in New Haven. Rather, we would meet at P&M at 6:30am, load cars, and drive up to the Woodbury/Middlebury area for our start point (to be determined).
Plan for 60-70 miles with some good climbs, 16-17 mph average, with a coffee/pastry stop in the middle and opportunity for a brewery and/or ice cream after.
